My baby Brant

Brant woke up today with a rash on his chest.  It was kind of strange because he has always been allergic to sunscreen and I put on a new brand on him yesterday, and we had our house sprayed.  But, I just noticed the rash on his chest and then when we pulled up to his school it had spread to his cheeks! When I turned around to go to the doctor he was soooo mad!! All he wanted to do was go to school and play, "Troublemakers" (whatever that means) with his best friend Zane!!  Even when we were taking a nap he sang, "Night Night Baby to all his friends at school that he missed so much."
Brant is such a handful, but he is such a blessing.  I just look at him and smile.  He makes me so happy and I am so grateful that I have spent this past year with him.

We are the Cubs!!! Slade's first HOME RUN!!

Slade got on the "Cubs" baseball team this year. It has been wonderful!!  He has not played catcher at all this year, and he can hit the ball and make it fly!!! We are so proud of him. This past week, he got someone out at first and then hit a home run!!!!  It was his first ever!!!!  He just kept rounding the bases and was sooo excited!

Also, he is not figuring out the game, and since he is hitting better, some of the short stops are really good and will catch his hits as pop flys. He does not like this at all.

Brant is so funny during these games also, he has to wear his "uniform" to the game also.  We were playing the Red Sox the other day and Brant had red sox on, and he did not like it!!!

Elvis Baby!!

Brant is obsessed with Elvis!! He loves Blue Suede Shoes!!  He thinks the lyrics are...

One for the money,
Two for the show,
Three to get ready,
Now go BRANT go!!!

I think we might have his Halloween costume picked out already and it is only April!

Sweet Caroline

We had our favorite cousin Caroline over to spend the night in March. The boys just love her!! We went to the park and then chick fil A for ice cream.  When we got home, we watched "Chipwrecked."  Slade and Caroline were so cute, they were holding hands during the movie.

Eating better

A few weeks ago, Slade gave us a scare.  He was so lethargic and gloomy.  We were very concerned and almost took him to the doctor to have is blood checked.  But, I decided instead of that, we were just going to change his diet.  It has been a miracle!  He has so much more energy and actually got in trouble at school.  (Which we don't want to happen, but wow!)  I have had this cookbook, "Deceptively Delicious" for a few years.  I finally read it and made tons of purees. I sneak them in his food every meal.   Now, Slade is not allowed to have sugar like he used to.  Of course, he still has things like syrup on his waffles and he gets a juice box during school, but no more honey buns, sweet tea, and cake.  We are also starting to eat more organic and whole wheat.  The change is amazing, I can't believe we have not this sooner.

When Slade told us he got into trouble at school, he kind of snuck it in the conversation.  We were sitting at dinner and he said, "Sometimes you have to sit on the curb at recess, and it is really boring."  Billy and I just looked at each other and asked him if he had to sit out.  And he told us, "Yes, but only 3 minutes, Garrett had to sit out 5.  And, this was in last week mom, not today."  Billy is soo pumped that he got in trouble that now every day he ask him if he had to sit out.

Brant is a big ol' mess!  We are still trying to potty train him, and the other morning they both woke up at 5:55 to go to the bathroom. I was so tired I just let them go, and wouldn't you know I did not hear a single drop of pee hit the water.  When I walked in the bathroom, there was pee on the walls, on the toilet lid, and about an inch of it on the floor.  YUCK!! I think I am going to ban all boys to one bathroom.  I hate cleaning up pee, especially at 5:55 in the morning.  But, Brant was so excited he peed and not in his diaper, I just had to give him tons of hugs and kisses.

The Picture Bible and Chick fil A

Slade was going through our old books and found a Picture Bible that I got for my 6th birthday.  He LOVES to read it.  He even asked me if he could take it to school and read to his friends.  Slade is so thoughtful and just loves to learn about God and Jesus.  It melts my heart.

Today Brant and I went to eat at Chick-fil-A and had lunch with his friend Bryson. Brant found his football jersey and had to wear it to show Bryson. He put it over his shirt, so he looked really cute!

Slade the Super Star and Brant-ready to potty train???

Today was such a great day.  Slade had a great day at school and Brant got to take his teddy bear to school today.  We are trying to potty train Brant, but it is not going as good as we would like.  The other night he went poop in the potty and then came back to the dinner table.  Then, he told me, "Mama, I pooped over there."  Me, being naive, said, "Good job baby, you pooped in the potty, we are so proud of you." But, I was mistaken, he had pooped on the floor also.. Yuck!! It was everywhere.

Also, we were picking up Slade yesterday from school and Brant had to go pee NOW!!  Well, I tried to get him to pee in a cup, and looking back I don't know why I just did not open the door and let him pee, but the cup fiasco was horrible!! Pee went flying and when he was done, his hair was soaked and so was my car.

Slade is getting sooo good at T Ball. One of his favorite things to do after school is to make an obstacle course in our drive way.  He will have to catch 5 fly balls, jump over the jump ropes, do jumping jacks, crab crawl, make baskets, and run. He loves it.  He can also read VERY well!!  This morning he read to me the Picture Bible. All that God did on the first 7 days.

My boys are the BEST! I love them so much!
