Sweet Baby Brant

Brant has such a sweet heart.  I was on my way to San Angelo for work this past weekend, and when they were walking me to my car to leave, he grabbed me and said a short little prayer for me.  It went something like, "Dear God, be with my mommy and keep her safe."  I almost just started bawling right there.

He also has loved my rent car this past week.  It had a pass through from the back seat to the trunk.  He even tried to get Skittles to crawl through.  He would tell me that this was the fanciest car ever.  It was only a Chrysler 500.  So it was just kind of cool.

25 Weeks-World Series

Since Brant's team won 3rd in state, we got to go to the World Series!  It is held in Youngsville, Louisiana.  Billy got to go with us, so the boys were super excited.  We left on Wednesday and stayed until Sunday.  Our first game was Wednesday at 7, and we crushed a team from Louisiana.  Since we won, we played again Thursday night at 7.  We played a team from Tampa Bay, Florida and they were rough! During the game, one of our players slid into 3rd and the 3rd baseman jumped on him and our player, Garrett ended up breaking his arm.  Brant got to play catcher and outfield.  He did so well!  One play, he tagged a kid out at home and it was like on TV, everyone was waiting until he held up his glove to show the ball was still in it!  We won that game, and went on to play again that Friday night at 8:30.  We had to play the winner of those two teams.  We played the team from Louisiana and beat them again!!!  WE made it to the championship!!!  For the championship game we played Harlingen from south Texas.  It was such a touch and go game.  It started off real well for our team. We got 3 outs quickly and they only scored 1 the first inning.  We scored our 5. Then we held them again and got our next 5. The score was 10-1 going into the 3rd. Then the momentum switched.  They got their 5 runs, and then got us out, 3 up, 3 down.  The last inning it was 14-12.  They were up. All we had to do was get 3 outs.  Our outfield was on fire!! We caught 3 of their hits to the outfield to win!! It was so exciting!

We also did fun things while we were there.  We went on a swamp tour and saw Alligators!  The boys loved it.  Slade jumped once when he thought he heard an alligator.  We also went and celebrated at a restaurant with a creole band.  The boys danced and danced.

Slade liked playing with the other boys there.  They were all about his age and they played whiffle ball during the games.  He was so cute.  Slade told me that he just wanted us to win!!

Something funny that Brant did was that each game he had to have the hotel key in his pocket. It was almost like his superstitious thing that he had to do to win the game.
