Camp Muck a run

The grandkids spent the past weekend at Mere and Poppy's.  Mere called it Camp Run a muck, but Slade kept on calling it Camp Muck a run.

They spent the night over there on Friday night and then rode the train to Dallas on Saturday to visit the Dallas Zoo. They had such a fun time on the train.  There was a man on the train, who had special needs, and he kept a tight watch on Brant, Slade, and Caroline. He had a train schedule in his pocket along with a watch and thought he was the conductor. Brant, Caroline and Slade got to pull the whistle to signal that it was time to go.

That night, they played Indian poker and dominoes.  Brant was horrible at Indian poker, because he would look at the cards and then tell who got the highest card! Caroline would also play beauty shop and fix Brant's hair.

Ice Bucket Challenge

Billy and the boys did the Ice Bucket Challenge, for ALS.  Billy was nominated by a few of his buddies, and then Casen, Brant's friend nominated Brant and Slade.  They were so excited.  Billy had 4 buckets dumped on him, and Slade and Brant only had 1 each.  Brant nominated Poppy, and Slade nominated Mere and Cayden.

Baseball practice

We like to practice baseball every night. Billy can get a little intense, and sometimes Slade gets frustrated. Billy will always tell him to get his arm back when he throws. I overheard Slade telling Mere that he does get his arm back.  It was cute.  He tries so hard for Billy.  Brant still is Brant, and will try to mess with Slade everytime.

1st week of 1st grade.

Slade had a great first week of school.  He was so excited. He got up every morning and was ready to go at 7:15.  He does not like to be late.  At night, we would talk about his day.  He was so cute, he said, "we have real desks!" In Kindergarten they had tables they sat at.  Now, he has his own desk with just his stuff.  And, now that they are in 1st grade, they get to sit on the risers in music.

One night he also told me that the first few days of school are kinda boring.  I was just thinking, oh no.. He has loved school so far, please let him like it forever.

Aledo vs. Cedar Park

Aledo played Cedar Park in the season opener.  We were actually the first game in the new Baylor Stadium.  Billy has been nervous all week.  We picked up Slade early from school, and headed to Waco. We ate dinner at Ninfa's, and then headed to the game.  The stadium was so cool.
The game was a nail biter, at half it was 10-7.  We battled back and won 21-17.  Aledo scored with 1 minute left!
During the game, Brant had a nose bleed, and there was so much blood!  By the time I got him to the bathroom, my shirt was covered.  Slade saw his two buddies, Patton and Tristan. We had a great time, and we are so glad that football season is here!

Truck Bed

We let the boys ride in the truck bed down my parent's street.  They had so much fun, at first they were nervous, but then they did not want to get out.
