Mrs. Baucum Day

Slade's PE teacher, Mrs. Baucum is retiring this year. She is such a good PE teacher! All the kids love her and they had a Mrs. Vacuum day to celebrate her. All the kids wore runners club shirts and they have them all a visor.  Slade loved it. Well, Brant was upset that he did not get a visor, so when Slade left for school, Brant put it on. :)

Water park!!!

We got season passes to the water park again this year. The boys love Splash Kingdom in Hudson Oaks. It is very small and has more rides for younger kids.  The boys love the mat racers and tube slides, but Brant has never done the snake slides. I think he stood in line three times before he finally went down. He was so brave!!! I was so nervous because he had to swim about 10 feet to the steps, but he did it and he loved it!!! Also during this trip, Slade wore his shorts backwards. It was so funny! He always has his pants on backwards. 

Face

Brant was looking into the mirror making funny faces. He looked at me and said I have got to show Slade this face. It was the cutest thing.

Yucky things

We went swimming at Mere's today, and in the pool was a baby frog. Brant would not touch it, he was so afraid of it. Slade held it in his hand. But, there was a dead locus on Mere's back porch and Brant has been holding it all night. It is so funny he won't touch a frog but he will a dead locus.

Slade and Brant have had this idea to take a picture of us all holding each other.so the other night we took one. Skittles even is in it:)

Crater of the Diamonds

The boys have had this idea of going to dig for diamonds for the past six months. They've been obsessed with it because of the game Minecraft. They found this place called crater of the diamonds in Arkansas and decided that's where we needed to go on a mini vacation this summer. It is about five hours away so after church we headed for Arkansas. We spent the night before in a hotel and the boys loved it. We had a huge room and they love jumping from bed to bed. They loved the breakfast in the morning, and there was a sign that said, Pool with an arrow pointing down. They could not figure out why the sign would say that. The next day we headed to the crater.we dug and dug, but the boys only lasted about two hours. A lady asked Brant during the digging if he was ready to go to school. He looked at her and said no, I hate school and I'm going to be at WWE wrestler. We found some quartz and a very nice piece sandstone.  Then we got in the car and drove five hours back. The highlight of the drive back was we listen to Hank the cow dog.

Kayaking

 The boys are learning to kayak and fish. We have been watching the Jones's dogs while they are on vacation, and they have a pond behind their house.  And we finally got the boys to kayak!! They were hooked! Of course Slade tried to scare Brant and tell him there were snakes.
