Brother snuggles

Brant actually slept with Slade all last night. I can't believe he did not wake up once. When I went to check on them last night, and brant was already asleep, Slade said, "what if he pees on me?" Luckily he didn't, and it is now 8:20 and they are still asleep. My sweet angels!

Day at sea.

Today was such a good day. We played at the water park, did a round of mini golf, swam, and had a 4th of July party. 

Tomorrow we leave for home, and it is bitter sweet. While we are ready to be home, this has been such a fun vacation. Today Brant saw a man with one arm, and said very loudly... Hey, he does not have an arm... This man that he said that about, always wears a crazy hat... We think he might be someone special, because he always has someone with him, and Billy over heard him introduce himself to a worker and she was a little star stuck. 

There was a huge 4th of July party on the top deck tonight and it was fun!!

It's hard to be the little brother.

Slade has basketball camp this week, and his best friend Cayden is going also. Well, Brant was first very sad that he did not get to go to camp, but he got over it because we let him play Cool Math Games. Then, we took Cayden home from camp and they asked Slade to spend the night. Brant has never been so sad in his life! I think he screamed the whole way home. He would scream really loud and say, "they get to have all the fun!" "Cayden has more stuff than us." 

Sometimes it is just hard being the little brother.:(

Lego Land

Slade has been dying to go to Lego Land! I have been wanting to take them, but I just hadn't found the time. My good friend Blair called me and asked if we would like to go with them, and I said, "Yes!" The boys had a blast, it is a little boys dream. Just playing Legos all day. They loved building the race cars and racing the other kids. They had games the kids could play, rides, and a big jungle gym. 

The funniest part was, when we got in the car, Slade told me that Lego land was not like the commercial he saw. The next day he showed me the commercial for Lego Land in California. It was like Six Flags!!! That would if been fun. Lego land Dallas is not anything like a theme park..

Cheese

Brant claims that he does not like cheese, he only likes melted cheese. But, he will not touch macaroni....  He loves queso and his favorite thing at Rio Mambo is chips and queso. 

We usually go to Rio Mambo after church on Sundays. We have to get queso and Slade loves to lick the lemons.

Swim school

Brant went to swim school this week.  He did great the first few days. Then Slade started telling him he had to jump off the diving board Friday. It all went downhill after that. He didn't get a popsicle after the lesson because he cried the whole time, and the day that I took him he cried and screamed and kept on saying he wanted his mommy. Then he would tell Miss Wendy, "wait I have to tell you something." He is a big mess.

Kindergarten Round 2 graduation.

What a special day! Slade had his Kindergarten graduation this past week. What a difference a year makes. This has been an amazing year. Slade has done so well and he has enjoyed school like no other. 

He had been telling us all month about how he was practicing for his graduation. I would ask him to tell me about it, but he would not budge. Then we were over at a friend's house and the moms told me that their sons told them that Slade had a singing part!!!! What???? I asked him about this and he just sweetly smiled and said yes. Billy and I were just wondering what in the world is he going to sing? We could not wait!

Finally it was the day. We got to the school early, took our seats and waited. There were so many people there, the room got stifling hot. Then the program started. The kids sang a few songs and then Slade went to the microphone. His song was the sweetest song ever. It was, "you are the best dad in the world." Oh my, we both were crying. He did such a good job. 

After the singing, they called each student's name and said what they wanted to be when they grew up, where they wanted to live, and what their favorite part of kindergarten was. 

Slade wanted to be a fireman, live in a two story house, and his favorite part of kinder was the drop in the bucket math sheets.  

Slade is just wonderful. We thank God every day that he gave us him as a son. After that, we had his kinder party out on the big play ground. Brant got to come and he thought he owned the place. He even got in trouble by Mr. Shelton for trying to sneak past where only the students could go...
