A month worth of stuff

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!! This is a picture of Slade on his new 4 wheeler! We had a great Christmas break. As always, we go to church Christmas Eve and then to open presents with my parents. Santa brought the kids bikes and Caroline and Slade rode in the garage with Poppy. Then we wake up Christmas morning at our house and open presents, then to Billy's Popa's house for chinese Christmas. Then for round 3 at my parents for dinner.

So much has gone on in the past month! This is a picture of when Billy got home with the boys. Brant is passed smooth out. During Christmas, Slade would not take off his santa hat. He even had his picture taken with Santa with it on. Brant also has been pushing the chairs as a form of exercise! He has fallen once and now I get real nervous.

Jump ahead to New Year's Day for this picture. Slade and Riley are playing on the i phone while we all watch the TCU game. They were sooo cute. They would chase each other around and had a great time!
Slade got his hair cut over the break. He has such thin hair that we can't buzz it just yet, but he did get a 4 on the sides. He is sooo precious! I can't believe how much he has grown and how much he learns. We went to my grandmas and he read her apartment number. 253!
We also made a ginger bread house during the break. I think now it will be a tradition!
Brant LOVES hats! He will try to put one on if it is around and he knows that he looks precious in them. He will just grin and grin!
We kept putting bows on Brant's head while we were unwrapping gifts. I guess this is what Brant would of looked like if he was a girl.
My boys love to snuggle. If Brant is not in bed with us, Slade will always ask where he is and if we can go get him. He is such a good big brother. He will give him kisses and hold his hand in the car. ;)
This is how I grocery shop these days. I strap Brant in and they drive!
Other things that have happened include:
Brant got his two bottom teeth! Finally!
Slade still loves to tell train stories.
If Slade is talking about yesterday he calls it "lasterday"
Brant has started eating puffs.
Brant has had 2 double ear infections. YUCK.

Trains, Santa, Swings, Kisses

We have had a fun few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Slade has loved listening to Christmas music and his all time favorites are: Grandma got run over by a reindeer and the Muppets 12 days of Christmas. He will just go around the house singing. He will sing, "Jingle Bell Jingle Rock... " So stinkin cute.

Slade is tooooo big for the baby swings. Makes me sad!

I took the boys to the park this week because it was great weather and Brant had his first experience with the swings. He LOVED them. He would just laugh and scream. He thought Slade was hilarious swinging so high. He loves his brother. In the mornings, he will crawl next to Slade and put his head on him. It makes my heart melt.

Brant has started to give kisses. He is just so sweet and smart. These are pics of us giving him a kiss, and of course, Slade is trying to eat his head....
We also took the boys to see Santa. Slade was so excited! He even wore his Santa hat. Brant just loved watching Slade, so he was not scared. Then, Billy, Brant, and Slade rode the train around the mall. I don't know if I have mentioned before, but Slade LOVES trains!!!He almost had a heart attack waiting for the train to come around. He has even started to watch Polar Express a million times. In the car, he will ask you to tell him train stories. I think Billy and I have told him over a hundred. If he hears a train, he wants you to pull over so he can watch it.

Something cute

Every night when we go to sleep I sing a little song to Slade, or I did before Brant came along... But, Slade now sings it to Brant. It is so cute. I usually sing it through the first time and then hum the rest of the time, and Slade will tell me to hum if I sing anymore than 1 time through.

It goes...

night night baby
night night baby
night night baby
it's time to go to sleep.....

Really cheesy, but it is our little thing. They are sooo cute, I love them soo much.

Toss your turkey

Wow, what a Thanksgiving! Billy started feeling bad on Tuesday night and into Wednesday, then Slade started to say that his tummy hurt and as soon as we got into the car and left my parents, he barfed!!! Then, at 3 a.m. he leaned over and barfed all over me and Brant!! Yuck! He felt better after that and never barfed again. Thank goodness! Thanksgiving was fun. We ate way to much. I tried to give Brant mashed potatoes and he did not like them. He is soo funny! All Slade wanted was nuggets, he doesn't even like macaroni. I guess they get my pickiness.

We went to Ava and Sophia's birthday party in Southlake during the break. It was at an indoor safari place that was pretty neat. They had a train and motorized animals. Slade loved it, of course, becuase of the train. They even had an area for Brant to play in. Everytime we got into the car after the party, Slade would ask if we were going to Southlake to ride the train. He is soo cute!
Brant is having the hardest time at the church nursery. He just cries and cries. The ladies that are always working his class asked me if I ever left him!! I told them I was a teacher and he gets left every day, but I don't they believed me.
Slade spent the night away at Mere and Poppy's house on Thanksgiving. He and Caroline stayed the night together so they would not be scared. He told me that he slept on the edge and Caroline slept in the middle. It is neat that he is getting to the age that he can spend the night and I don't have to worry about him.

I already can't wait for Christmas break! I miss my babies already!

Cowboy Stadium, pirates, and mowing.

Billy and Slade went to the Cowboy stadium this weekend to watch playoff games. Billy said that Slade LOVED it and was amazed at how big the big screen was. He was such a trooper, he got there at 4 and they did not get home until 1:15 a.m.!! Billy did say that Slade missed me and Brant! He got sleepy around 10:30 and wanted to go home, but as always, he got a second or third or fourth wind. Slade finally fell asleep on the way home around 1, and he woke up at 7! No sleeping in for us. Since Billy is home for Thanksgiving break, he is getting all the stuff done around the house that has needed to be done since July when he started football. Yesterday, they mowed and cleaned the outside of the house. Billy sent me this picture of Slade saying they were doing "man" work. Slade is just so precious! He looks just like Billy. (Well his body of course) He has Billy's coloring, not mine.) It has been so warm here the past few days that it feels like Spring going into Summer. Pirate Brant Poopy Pants... This is the name that Slade gave Brant. :) We have a big tub that we put in the living room and we call it Brant's pirate ship. He will just sit in it and watch Slade play. Every once in a while he will try to get out. I think it will only be a few more weeks and he will be able to crawl out of it. I started to give Brant meat this past week and it has really upset his tummy! He has had very very very poopy diapers ever since he has eaten chicken. Maybe he will be like Billy and hate anything good for him.
As always I love my boys, all three of them. Since this is Thanksgiving, I am so thankful of my life with them.

Not so fun Thursday.

It is all saddness around the Mathis household. Godley lost last night 12 to 14. It was not a fun game at all. I really think it has something to do with the Mustang Bowl. I have had bad memories of that place ever since high school. I took Slade with me and we just had mommy/Slade time. It was fun to have just him. He loves going to the football games, he did not understand that we lost though, and the mood was very somber but he was just running and screaming. He loves to knock over the pilons. I think we are going to have to get him some for Christmas. That is his favorite thing to do after the game. He will run from one end to the other. Brant stayed home with my mom. He of course did not go to sleep well and did not stay asleep, so she had to lay beside him and then he finally fell asleep. I just love my boys. All 3 of them. :) I can't get a picture to post, so I will add one tomorow!

Fun at Lowes

This weekend was the best! It seemed like Billy was home more, but I actually missed having a football game to go to. Then Saturday we got a few pictures made. It was complete chaos getting there. Brant and Slade went nuts from 2:00 to 3:00. It turned out fine, but we almost did not make it.
Sunday we just hung out around the house and bought a washing machine. I took the boys to Lowes with me because Billy was not home and Slade loves the carts. I had Brant in his car seat, but then Slade wanted him to ride next to him. So I strapped him in and they had the best time. Brant laughed and laughed the whole shopping trip. They are sooo precious!

This is a picture of the cart ride. Slade is always so cheesy for pictures!!!!
