Trains, Santa, Swings, Kisses

We have had a fun few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Slade has loved listening to Christmas music and his all time favorites are: Grandma got run over by a reindeer and the Muppets 12 days of Christmas. He will just go around the house singing. He will sing, "Jingle Bell Jingle Rock... " So stinkin cute.

Slade is tooooo big for the baby swings. Makes me sad!

I took the boys to the park this week because it was great weather and Brant had his first experience with the swings. He LOVED them. He would just laugh and scream. He thought Slade was hilarious swinging so high. He loves his brother. In the mornings, he will crawl next to Slade and put his head on him. It makes my heart melt.

Brant has started to give kisses. He is just so sweet and smart. These are pics of us giving him a kiss, and of course, Slade is trying to eat his head....
We also took the boys to see Santa. Slade was so excited! He even wore his Santa hat. Brant just loved watching Slade, so he was not scared. Then, Billy, Brant, and Slade rode the train around the mall. I don't know if I have mentioned before, but Slade LOVES trains!!!He almost had a heart attack waiting for the train to come around. He has even started to watch Polar Express a million times. In the car, he will ask you to tell him train stories. I think Billy and I have told him over a hundred. If he hears a train, he wants you to pull over so he can watch it.

Something cute

Every night when we go to sleep I sing a little song to Slade, or I did before Brant came along... But, Slade now sings it to Brant. It is so cute. I usually sing it through the first time and then hum the rest of the time, and Slade will tell me to hum if I sing anymore than 1 time through.

It goes...

night night baby
night night baby
night night baby
it's time to go to sleep.....

Really cheesy, but it is our little thing. They are sooo cute, I love them soo much.

Toss your turkey

Wow, what a Thanksgiving! Billy started feeling bad on Tuesday night and into Wednesday, then Slade started to say that his tummy hurt and as soon as we got into the car and left my parents, he barfed!!! Then, at 3 a.m. he leaned over and barfed all over me and Brant!! Yuck! He felt better after that and never barfed again. Thank goodness! Thanksgiving was fun. We ate way to much. I tried to give Brant mashed potatoes and he did not like them. He is soo funny! All Slade wanted was nuggets, he doesn't even like macaroni. I guess they get my pickiness.

We went to Ava and Sophia's birthday party in Southlake during the break. It was at an indoor safari place that was pretty neat. They had a train and motorized animals. Slade loved it, of course, becuase of the train. They even had an area for Brant to play in. Everytime we got into the car after the party, Slade would ask if we were going to Southlake to ride the train. He is soo cute!
Brant is having the hardest time at the church nursery. He just cries and cries. The ladies that are always working his class asked me if I ever left him!! I told them I was a teacher and he gets left every day, but I don't they believed me.
Slade spent the night away at Mere and Poppy's house on Thanksgiving. He and Caroline stayed the night together so they would not be scared. He told me that he slept on the edge and Caroline slept in the middle. It is neat that he is getting to the age that he can spend the night and I don't have to worry about him.

I already can't wait for Christmas break! I miss my babies already!

Cowboy Stadium, pirates, and mowing.

Billy and Slade went to the Cowboy stadium this weekend to watch playoff games. Billy said that Slade LOVED it and was amazed at how big the big screen was. He was such a trooper, he got there at 4 and they did not get home until 1:15 a.m.!! Billy did say that Slade missed me and Brant! He got sleepy around 10:30 and wanted to go home, but as always, he got a second or third or fourth wind. Slade finally fell asleep on the way home around 1, and he woke up at 7! No sleeping in for us. Since Billy is home for Thanksgiving break, he is getting all the stuff done around the house that has needed to be done since July when he started football. Yesterday, they mowed and cleaned the outside of the house. Billy sent me this picture of Slade saying they were doing "man" work. Slade is just so precious! He looks just like Billy. (Well his body of course) He has Billy's coloring, not mine.) It has been so warm here the past few days that it feels like Spring going into Summer. Pirate Brant Poopy Pants... This is the name that Slade gave Brant. :) We have a big tub that we put in the living room and we call it Brant's pirate ship. He will just sit in it and watch Slade play. Every once in a while he will try to get out. I think it will only be a few more weeks and he will be able to crawl out of it. I started to give Brant meat this past week and it has really upset his tummy! He has had very very very poopy diapers ever since he has eaten chicken. Maybe he will be like Billy and hate anything good for him.
As always I love my boys, all three of them. Since this is Thanksgiving, I am so thankful of my life with them.

Not so fun Thursday.

It is all saddness around the Mathis household. Godley lost last night 12 to 14. It was not a fun game at all. I really think it has something to do with the Mustang Bowl. I have had bad memories of that place ever since high school. I took Slade with me and we just had mommy/Slade time. It was fun to have just him. He loves going to the football games, he did not understand that we lost though, and the mood was very somber but he was just running and screaming. He loves to knock over the pilons. I think we are going to have to get him some for Christmas. That is his favorite thing to do after the game. He will run from one end to the other. Brant stayed home with my mom. He of course did not go to sleep well and did not stay asleep, so she had to lay beside him and then he finally fell asleep. I just love my boys. All 3 of them. :) I can't get a picture to post, so I will add one tomorow!

Fun at Lowes

This weekend was the best! It seemed like Billy was home more, but I actually missed having a football game to go to. Then Saturday we got a few pictures made. It was complete chaos getting there. Brant and Slade went nuts from 2:00 to 3:00. It turned out fine, but we almost did not make it.
Sunday we just hung out around the house and bought a washing machine. I took the boys to Lowes with me because Billy was not home and Slade loves the carts. I had Brant in his car seat, but then Slade wanted him to ride next to him. So I strapped him in and they had the best time. Brant laughed and laughed the whole shopping trip. They are sooo precious!

This is a picture of the cart ride. Slade is always so cheesy for pictures!!!!

Baby Hopkins!

So excited!!!!! My good friend Blair had her baby yesterday. Hogan Scott Hopkins, 7lb. 10 oz, 21 3/4 inches long. Blair and Jacob waited to find out what they were having until yesterday. It almost makes me want a third so that I can have that experience.
Slade and Brant are just perfect, and I thank God for them everyday. Last night Slade got scared once again. I was feeding Brant and he came running in the room and said that someone knocked on the window!! I of course knew no one was there, but I still got scared. I did not know what I would do if someone was really staring back at me.
Brant slept in his crib until 4 last night! Yippee! I went in there around 2 to make sure he was ok. He was, so I just covered him back up. Also, Marky Mark and the Funky bunch came on the tv last night and Brant just cracked up. Slade and I started dancing around and he got even more happier!

Falls and Feet!

Yesterday was eventful. Brant had his first major fall. It was scary. Brenna sent me a text message that he had fallen and had a bruise on his head. I was picturing the worst, but luckily it was not bad at all. He just loves to climb on everything and pull up. He pulled up on a chair and then let go and fell.

Slade saw my toe nails yesterday and asked me why I painted them black. He said that he liked pink better. :) I just love my boys!!!! They are sooo sweet and cute!

Fun Filled Fast Weekend

This weekend went by crazy fast. We had the Godley game on Friday night, and they won 63 to 7!!!! They are District Champs and are ranked # 2 in state! Yay! I really want them to win state so that I can get a state necklace. I took Slade to the game with me and my mom took care of Brant. It was weird to have only one kiddoe!

Then on Sat. I had a "Sip and See" for my friend Alli's new baby Caroline. I was going to take the boys, but luckily Billy was home so they got to hang out with him. Here is a picture he took! So super cute!

After the Sip and See, we went over to Blair and Jacob's house. And on Sunday I had Cotillion. Busy Busy!!!

Slade and Brant did not sleep really well this weekend. Thank you time change. I think Brant is getting teeth, but I have thought that forever, and still none. He likes to bite and chew on everything. And he is crawling and will pull up every where!!!! Yesterday he actually went from the ottoman to the chair standing up!!! Slade's new thing is he will tell you a secret but say funny stuff. Like, "toilet, poop, pee."...... Gross, but I guess it is a little boy's humor. I just love them soooo much!

Welcome to the Crazyiness.

Slade has started to be afraid to be alone. He comes by it nautrally because I hate to be alone. When I was getting Brant ready for bed, he kept on coming in the room and waking Brant back up again. He was super cute, he would walk in and whisper, "Is he alseep?" Brant would wake up and look at him and laugh... It was madness for about 45 minutes. Finally Brant went to bed. Then we I went back into the living room, the lights had gone out! It was just the lights in the living room and the plugs still worked. It was weird. Finally Slade and I fixed it. It was just a crazy day followed by a crazy night. It ended well, Slade and I read about 3 books and then fell asleep. His favorite books are Berenstein bear books. He loves "Visit the Dentist" it is a must read every night.
Slade took this picture of Brant. A real close up! :) This is a picture of the boys hanging out on the beds, before Brant goes to sleep. Yes, Slade is naked.

Slade loves the first picture of him the pots! He looks at it all the time on my phone, so the other day he called me into the kitchen and he had recreated it! Look how much he has grown!

Billy

It is all about Billy today! He has complained that he has not made the blog... So here he is!!! I love him sooo much! My life would not be the same without him. I remember when I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with him. We weren't even together yet. He was a Junior and I was a freshman. He was walking back from football practice from the baseball field and I was going to the MPC. I told my mom that I was going to follow him to college and then marry him. What a life we have had. I love you so much. You are my wonderwall!

Halloween!

Slade the Skeleton!
Brant the monkey!
We had such a great Halloween weekend. My parents finally got home from London!! Thank goodness!! We really missed them. On Saturday we were supposed to go to a pumpkin carving party, but Billy was super tired so we just hung out at home. Sunday was church and Slade gave his first offering. He brought $1 to church. It was really sweet. I am sure he did not know what he was doing, but at least he did it. Then, Sunday night we went to my parents and trick or treated around their neighborhood. Slade had so much fun, but was more concerened with eating the candy in between the houses to get us very far. I think we went to about 10 house all together. And Billy actually did not have to work so he got to go with us. :)
This is a picture of how the evening started. Slade was upset...... Everyone else was super happy. He got over it once he was in the wagon.

Church Carnival

Yesterday we had the annual church carnival. I just love our church. They have bounce houses, games and tons of candy and food. Slade dressed up as a skeleton but I did not dress Brant up because it was too hot. Slade loves bounce houses and he was so brave and went down the tallest slide there. He loved it so much, he went on it about a million times. Needless to say we have tons of candy and we already can't wait for next year. I should of brought our stroller for Brant, but in the past it has always gotten in the way. I had to carry him the whole time. He actually spit up the garden vegetables that he just ate right infront of a large group of kids. It was pretty funny. They all just stared and kinda started gagging. Such a fun way to spend the evening!

Zoo Day

Yesterday we met my first friend Ali and her two kids at the zoo. I actually had a stay at home mom day!!! It was the best. All Slade wanted to do was ride the train. It was the most expensive 7 minute train ride! But, he loved it and that made it worth it! Brant was just the best baby all day. He just sat in the double stroller by Tripp and just watched. He finally fell asleep as we were getting on the train, and the train woke him up. It was just a perfect day with my two boys.
